I've grown up hunting my family's small 10 acre parcel and the 10 acre collection of various neighbor's parcels around it. I'm living proof that if hunted correctly small acreage can and has proven to be rewarding. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars on guided hunts or on a lease that is "whitetail heaven" to get your hands on some solid antlers.
I’ve been bit by the whitetail fever just like many of you have. I’ll never claim to be the bearer of all knowledge but what I do know I hope to share with those who don’t. I encourage you to look into other blogs, books, shows or magazines that have accredited authors and hunters as their writers. The knowledge base from guys like John Eberhart or Bill Vale are truly priceless pieces; also when the old timers speak to you at deer camps, local archery stores or simply the sporting good section at your local stores…LISTEN TO THEM. 9 times out of 10 their knowledge is going to be greater than yours and their advice solid. Don’t trust everything you see on a deer DVD or think your deer will react the exact same way. Do these things and you’ll become a better hunter; I just hope I give you a few tidbits that help you in your quest for antlers in your hands.
